DOMESTIC BIOMASS BOILER ROOM | GARDEN SHED | LOG STORE

This is a timber framed and clad shed to house a domestic biomass energy system.

The building has extended roof eaves which create covered log storage on the front, and winter protection for a canoe on the rear. The building is also fully insulated which traps the inevitable heat loss from the Biomass boiler. This creates a year round warm atmosphere that is excellent for drying washing, wetsuits, bikes and muddy boots. It also keeps tools and garden machinery bone dry through wet Cornish winters.

Its location amongst ancient and listed buildings meant it required a more traditional style than some of our other buildings. The locally grown feather edge larch cladding will slowly soften to a silvery grey, and the reclaimed Spanish slate roof beautifully matches the Cornish slate roofs nearby.

The timber cladding for the inside was recycled from a skip at the local woodyard and the waste pile from the connected house's renovation.
